Dorchester Town Council

Poundbury comes under the county town of Dorchester in terms of political representation and has four ward members elected in May 2019.

One of these is the Richard Bigg who is in his second term as Mayor of Dorchester. As Poundbury transitions towards completion a combination of MANCOs, Dorset council and Dorchester Town Council will assume management of play and opens spaces, road adoption and maintenance of street lighting.
