Dorset County Council

With effect from May 2019 the former district councils in Dorset became two unitary authorities.

Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole council and Dorset council were formed to continue service provision across the county.

Dorset council occupies County Hall in Dorchester and a number of sites in the town being a major local employer.

The Dorset council website is useful for new residents to understand how to get on to the electoral register, when domestic waste bins will be collected and a wide range of other services.
