Join the growing numbers of residents who are having their say on the future of the Poundbury Residents’ Association and community development.
Last year saw the initiation of the Big Poundbury Conversation which involved over 850 people in talking about life in Poundbury, what they liked and what might change or be developed. You can view results here.
110 Residents then attended the October Next Steps Meetings which identified the main emerging themes and some potential actions or projects. You can view a summary of ideas for next steps here.
The result of all this is an ambitious agenda for change set against a backdrop of a steady build-up of resident numbers to beyond 5,000 before the anticipated end of construction in 2027/8. The working group has identified a a number of themes or projects that could be worked on through 2024.
New PRA co-chairs Mike Stear and Simon Standish said: “There is though a big problem: having enough active volunteers from the community to address the issues. We might also need to have a different kind of Residents’ Association. We ask residents to read this discussion paper and then complete this short survey before 24th January and to join the growing number who have already expressed their views.”
A community meeting will take place on 24th January 2024 at Brownsword Hall to discuss options for the future, including setting up a charitable community association, and to agree the priority areas for community development over 2024. The Association ask residents to come along if they can, reserving a via Eventbrite. Over 40 residents have already reserved their place!
If you cannot attend the meeting, residents are asked to let the group know their views by emailing email@example.com.
