The results of the Nature Watch this year are now available, together with an update on the Poundbury Nature Project by Miles King. To read the report please click here.
The species count is the similar as the low June count but there is a new species added – Sand Martins, sighted within a mixed flock of mainly House Martins and some Swallows. The weather has improved this month, after the very poor July (hence the poor count), and is forecasted to improve further although may be variable still. Therefore, I hope that the August report carries a few more sightings and a species count closer to previous counts at this time of year.
Thank you to the contributors this month, and to Trish, David, and Frank for their pictures; “Mavis”, the Blackbird ‘portrait’ in the report, is Frank’s feisty resident, successful and proud (one might assume) parent!
