Whistleblowing Policy
1. Purpose

This policy provides guidance for reporting serious concerns about any aspect of the work of the Community Association of Poundbury (CAoP).
2. Scope
-
This policy applies to all Directors, volunteers, CAoP members, and others involved with the organisation.
3. Policy Statement
-
The CAoP is committed to:
- Operating in an ethical and accountable manner
- Encouraging open communication
- Protecting individuals who report wrongdoing in good faith
4. Types of Concerns
-
Concerns that may be raised under this policy include:
- Criminal activity
- Failure to comply with legal obligations
- Dangers to health and safety
- Financial malpractice
- Attempts to conceal any of the above
5. How to Raise a Concern
-
Concerns should be raised with the Chair of the CAoP
-
If the concern involves the Chair, it should be raised with the Vice Chair or Secretary
6. Confidentiality
-
The CAoP will treat all concerns raised confidentially

It will make every effort to protect the identity of individuals who raise concerns
7. Investigation Process
-
All concerns raised will be investigated promptly and fairly
-
The individual raising the concern will be kept informed of the progress and outcome of the investigation

If complaint is determined to be valid, the person involved will be asked to make amends and/or, if necessary, leave the association

If the person involved refuses to do so, then the procedure for removing the person’s membership should be implemented
8. Protection for Whistleblowers

The CAoP will not tolerate any harassment or victimisation of individuals who raise concerns in good faith
9. Review
-
This policy will be reviewed biannually and updated as necessary
